It’s that time of year again in New York City. The leaves have begun to fall off the trees, the shrill wind of late October is beginning to whip through the concrete canyons, and a damp cold permeates the landscape of the city. That can only mean one thing: it’s New York City Marathon time.

I’m not running in this years race, the lottery gets more and more daunting every year, but I know a number of people who are. For someone who has run a marathon in the past, I can attest to the nervous anticipation prior the race, followed by feeling of despair during, and finished with a feeling of triumph upon completion. It’s 26 plus miles through a gauntlet of emotions and pain. A crucible of human experience for anyone who dares their body to endure one.

In celebration of the upcoming race in New York, we found an inspirational video that should give future New York runners solace and excitement as they look towards the run. Maybe you’re not running in New York, but have your race in Nashville, Dallas, San Diego, or Chicago. While the theme may be different the message is uniform.
