
We caught up with fitness model Zarah Pacheco to find out what she has been doing. A rising star in the industry, Zarah is receiving growing acclaim for her fitness look. With a number of companies and products looking to her to begin representing their products, we thought it would be a good idea to check in with her and see what we could learn.
Zarah, you’re beginning to develop quite a following in the fitness world. Can you tell us what’s on the agenda for the coming months?
Sure thing. I’m thrilled to announce I just received my pro card with Fame WNSO(World Natural Sports Organization) and am going to be competing in my first pro show in Nov’09!
What type of fitness modeling work are you focusing on now? Are you repping any products?
I like to shoot for the magazines, I would like to endorse workout equipment and I’m speaking with a few companies as far as sponsorship.
Fittron recently attended a fitness modeling casting even here in New York. One of the professionals on the site invited us and we spoke with a number of aspiring models and industry veterans. Do you have any advice for them? Can they make a good living as a fitness model?
I never put all my eggs in one basket so to speak…diversify. Get out there and do as many jobs as you can while you can…you never know what doors might open along the way.
Are you still competing?
Yes my Pro show is in 4 weeks.
Are you taking on personal training clients now?
I used to work in a gym as a trainer, now I mostly freelance and consult clients when I can. I love to be able to be a positive influence in someone’s life. Changes for the better of course!
What’s your best feature?
My personality! my eyes, smile, and um…behind.
What’s your favorite thing to do on a Sunday?
Church, clean the house, train, relax, yoga, gardening, beach, reading, sometimes work. It all depends on how I feel , and have to do, and sometimes I do them all!
You made a big move when you came down to South Florida from your hometown in Canada. Can you tell us what was going through your head when you decided it was time to leave home?
Well I knew that if I wanted to make it in fitness I had to go where the other like-minded people go and as far as I’m concerned, Florida has a lot of sun and great beach bodies that make the motivation factor high and easy to stick with a great training program year-round.
We also know that you are an avid entrepreneur. Rumor is that you have a supplement line coming out. When’s that going to be done and what else do you have in the works?
Yes, I’m in the beginning phases of the line now. I plan to be done by Spring time. I also work with Premium Ticket sales to events and shows, and credit card processing, starting High-line refinancing in the near future. Oh and I’m finishing up my website- SexyZarah.com.
How many times a week do you work out now?
I work out 6-7 times a week. I take a day off cardio sometimes if my body is really run-down.
Do you have a strict diet? Any cheat foods?
Yes I have a strict diet when I’m competing, other than that I cheat twice a week. I love Tostitos and salsa
